Rehab Access is dedicated to keeping our patients and staff safe and helping to slow the spread of the coronavirus and COVID-19 pandemic. One of our responses to this is that we are offering virtual physical therapy sessions in addition to in-clinic appointments so our team can continue to treat your aches and pains if you need to remain in your home.
We’re sure you have questions about this new treatment delivery method and our efforts regarding this unprecedented global health emergency. That’s why we’ve created the following helpful frequently asked questions (FAQ) guide to help.
How is Rehab Access dealing with the coronavirus and COVID-19 pandemic?
Our team has been closely following guidelines given by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to provide safeguards and change our operations in response to the coronavirus outbreak. As the situation changes, we’ll provide further updates on how this is affecting our procedures. Virtual physical therapy, or remote physical therapy, is well suited for this current situation as it helps reduce exposure for older and immunocompromised patients.
Can I schedule an in-person appointment?
As essential health care service providers, we are currently still scheduling in-person appointments. Our team has implemented precautionary steps to keep both our patients and our staff safe. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Is it possible to work with my regular therapist in virtual physical therapy sessions?
Although we value continuity of care, due to special staffing requirements we are unable to guarantee your virtual physical therapy will be with your regular therapist. Please be assured that all of our clinicians are licensed and experienced and share the same commitment to exceptional care.
What should I do if I need to cancel my appointment?
Nothing is more important than staying safe during this public health crisis. Please contact us. Your appointment may be able to be rescheduled to a virtual physical therapy session.
What is virtual physical therapy?
Virtual physical therapy uses the internet and online devices to connect you with a physical therapist in real time in a video conference. You can interact as if you were right there in the clinic. While therapists can’t perform manual therapy and other hands-on treatments, this is a great way to perform therapeutic exercises and receive instruction and feedback.
What does it cost?
Our virtual physical therapy services are covered by most major insurances in the same way as an in-person visit. Our team also accepts credit and debit as well as Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) payments for Medicare, Medicaid and self-pay patients.
What do I need for virtual physical therapy?
All you need is yourself, comfortable clothes, an open space, an internet connection and an online device with a camera and microphone. Rehab Access uses a secure web-based platform that doesn’t require installing additional software.
